The purpose of the Osage County, Missouri Republican Committee is to advance the principles, values, and policies of the Republican Party within the county. The committee serves as the local organizing body for Republicans in the county and plays a crucial role in promoting the party’s platform, supporting Republican candidates for elected office, and engaging with voters to advocate for conservative principles.
In Missouri, townships used to be recognized as political sub-divisions of the state. Missouri townships were responsible for road construction and maintenance, property assessment, tax collection, and elections. Missouri townships were eventually absorbed into the counties. The boundaries of a township are still used, but not for business management.
Osage County has six townships. Each township has two members for the major political committees, one man and one woman. That gives the Republican committee twelve regular members in Osage.
